Match your current events: Ensure Tracklution is tracking the same events as your previous setup (Page views, add to carts, purchases, etc.). We can't deliver events that aren't tracked 😐

Important note for EU clients: Verify that the Tracklution tag loads at the same time as your previous tracking tag, particularly regarding consent handling. For example, if your old tag loads only after consent is given, ensure Tracklution does the same; if the old tag loaded before consent, match that behavior with Tracklution

For Meta, TikTok, Snapchat & Pinterest:

All events are delivered by default once you add your connector credentials (pixel ID, API access token, etc.) to the connector settings

Critical comparison tip: To avoid duplicate data and enable clean comparison, you have two options.

Simple method (which we recommend): Pause your existing tags (easily done in GTM by just pausing them) and connect Tracklution to the same pixel - you'll see the uplift in data almost immediately in Meta Events Manager.

More advanced method: Use a different pixel ID than your current setup, though this is usually more complicated to set up.

Important to note: If both sources (old and Tracklution) are sending data to the same pixel simultaneously, it will result in duplicate data and make comparison impossible.

For Google Ads, LinkedIn & Microsoft Ads:

Unlike Meta's approach, only the specific conversion actions you have created will be delivered to the connector, and not all events by default. Make sure you are sending all the events you were previously receiving to the ad platform from the old pixel

Tracklution creates two new conversion lists for each action:

  • Purchase Click conversion: Conversions with a Google Click ID (delivered via CAPI)
  • Purchase View-Through / Engagement Conversion: Conversions without a Click ID (using Enhanced Conversions)

Important comparison note: Usually these lists are not separated in traditional setups, so when comparing to your old setup, count the values of these two lists together. This separation also greatly benefits the advertisers, as it provides additional insights into click conversions versus conversions coming from ad interactions (without click), giving more granular visibility into the campaign performance.
